Early Semptember is a great time to shop your own home. This is the perfect time to remind yourself what faux greenery, fall florals, and throw pillows you used last year for seasonal decor. It’s also the perfect time to see if your fall florals and greenery are in good condition. So when you see fall inspiration at the thrift store or Hobby Lobby it’s a great way to avoid extra cost. I have, to be honest, been there and done that. We all have at one time or another with our decor.

Get Fall-Ready with Easy Ideas for Grocery Store Finds for Early September

Now is a great time to get fall inspiration at the grocery store. Think nuts in the shell (I save mine to reuse the next year and have for years— don’t eat them!)

  • Small white pumpkins – Cindy’s Pumpkin Tip: Remove stems from real pumpkins at the end of the autumn season. Here’s an easy way to dry them. Place the stems inside a brown bag. Store in a dry place. A closet works. Use them next year. Use these for the fall season in vignettes, centerpieces, and more!

Simple Fall Vignette: My Favorite Ways to Create a Rustic Look with a Dough Bowl

When adding seasonal decor to our kitchen dining table, I add a fall vignette, I keep it simple with dried gourds in an antique dough bowl. A stack of breadboards is the perfect base layer. This is a great way to add a rustic look. This is where I purchased gourds. Store them in a dry place. Keep the gourds inside the box with the lid open. Store them in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. This is why suggest, decorating with nature. It’s a great way to avoid extra costs! Storing pieces correctly, they last. You can use them next year and the year after!

Cindy’s Fall Decor Tips: Here are early fall decor ideas for a centerpiece. Mix fall florals with greenery such as seeded eucalyptus, and branches with fall leaves in warm colors. Add these to a vase or pitcher. Add white pumpkins, pine cones, or mini pumpkins to a bowl or tray. The great thing is that these are budget-friendly ideas and simple ideas that work through Thanksgiving.

Fall Shelf Decor: Our Family Room with Thrift Finds and DIY Touches for Cozy Vibes

Shelves in our family room are the first thing I change when adding seasonal decor. I kept this in a neutral palette. These early fall decor ideas have my favorite things, acorns, dried pumpkin stems, and pheasant feathers. The pumpkin stems are saved from small white pumpkins. These small touches are the best way to welcome fall! I purchased the Ironstone soup tureen last year. It’s a thrift store find, I paid $5. It’s filled with a new piece of nature, for me. Sweet gum balls. Finding the sweet gum in late summer from a neighbor was a stroke of luck. Living here for 12 years, we never knew this Sweetgum tree was down the block.  

Cindy’s Fall Decor Tip: I found mini pumpkins in a neutral pallet. They are great for early fall. My walnut garland I shared last year or so is the perfect finishing touch, check the link. You can make this in moments!

10K Views on TikTok! Gold Paint and Seed Pods Became My Favorite Fall Wreath

I shared this story on TikTok. It received over 10,000 views! Can you believe it? I added gold craft paint to the seed pods and the great thing it added instant charm. What better way is there to add nature? No, I wouldn’t want to have these in our yard. I can imagine the ankles that have been twisted. The first thing I thought, the fall colors and unique look would make a beautiful wreath for my, favorite season, fall. And free, talk about budget-friendly ideas! In late August, my husband mentioned how much I adore nature and he gave them to us. He grabbed two buckets and brought them home.   

My Secret Obsession: Style Shelves with DIY Vintage Books and Pine Cones

I kept a secret from you and apologize, I have another slight obsession, small crowns, Where this came from, I’m not sure. Most are from the thrift store and I paid a few dollars for each. The shelves are filled with simple ideas, books, nuts, acorns, pinecones, and a grapevine ball. The Alabaster is a thrift store find the right time and right place, I paid $8! Some books are old but the books with the pages facing out, I made them look old look in minutes. Check my DIY page! This brings me to fall wreaths.

Cindy’s Moss Tip: When adding moss to wreaths or other crafts. I spray the moss with Mod Podge Matte Sealer. It prevents the moss from fading and shedding!

Fall Wreath: Nature-Inspired Look That Won’t Break the Bank

When the change of seasons is on the horizon, the first thing I think is to create a new wreath. Late summer is a perfect time to plan for fall wreaths. At the end of summer, craft stores such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Dollar Tree are filled with fall inspiration. I have a better way to welcome the fall season. If you guessed adding pieces of nature, you’re right! My mind often leans towards adding nature to our home. Besides the fact there’s no extra cost, nature adds a unique look. The seed pods did the trick. It adds cozy vibes. It’s a good time to visit my DIY & Crafts page. wreaths for multiple seasons. This pinecone wreath is a favorite and it’s three years old. It looks as good as the day I made it, can you believe it?

Cindy’s Fall Wreath Tip: Wreaths don’t have to hang. Add a wreath to a coffee table or inside a lantern.

Favorite Early Fall Florals: My Favorite Ways to Use Limelight Hydrangeas

First, look at these hydrangeas. Talk about budget-friendly ideas, Limelight from the yard. These are my favorite early fall florals. Late August is a perfect time to cut them. They are gorgeous! If you don’t have hydrangeas I have these white hydrangeas, they look real.

Cindy’s Faux Flower Tip: Add water to a glass vase. I do this. Everyone thinks my flowers and greenery are real. If you cut the stems and wire is exposed. Add a coat of clear nail polish. It avoids rusting. Works like a charm!

Fall Vignette

Nature-Inspired Fall Vignette: Pine cones and DIY Touches

This fall vignette is in a crate filled with nature, pine cones, pumpkin stems, dried artichokes, and walnut shells split in half. I added hot glue, Spanish moss, and dried lavender. Extras from a wreath I made. This wreath has walnut shells and dried oranges. It’s a simple fall wreath. The birch bark covered battery-operated candle adds a soft glow. Cindy’s Tip: Look in the store while grocery shopping, I looked in the floral department. I found dried lavender and wheat bundles for a great price. Maybe your store will have some too.

Dining Room

Dining Table Details: The Easiest Ways to Add Rustic Elegance with Nature-Inspired Accents

On our dining room table are nuts, sweet gum, acorn caps preserved on sticks, and a large wood acorn. This bust is beautiful and I’m thrilled I made the purchase!  The star anise on the satin ribbon is elegant and rustic. At the end of this post, I will share direct links to the easiest ways to create fall pieces for the home.
