Adding mason jars filled with popcorn kernels from our local grocery store with flameless votive candles reminds me of colorful Indian corn. This is an easy way to create a focal point in our china cabinet. Don’t you think? Another great choice is to add glass bottles filled with bare branches.

Bring Nature Indoors: Pumpkin Stems and Nature for Autumn Decor

A simple way to add natural fall touches is by adding dried pumpkin stems collected from baby boos. I save pumpkin stems each year from real pumpkins from our front porch after the fall season. What’s a better way to add nature than using the real deal?   One of the best ways to store these is in a paper bag in a cool dark place. A basement or closet is the perfect way to store these. The good news, it’s a great choice because it’s dry, cool, and a dark place. By the way, I share great ideas to add these to faux pumpkins.  to make a grapevine wreath. The good news, these are inexpensive budget friendly items.

The Real Deal: Different Ways in the Home

More Autumn in the House

Next, across from the fireplace are windows that allow tons of afternoon light. We have two French chairs along with a cozy blanket a basket with an old book from Shakespeare, throw pillows, and dried lavender to sit and enjoy reading a good book. More natural elements such as a neutral basket, dried lavender, and grapevine pumpkin are a simple way to add autumn decor to the family room. The smell is amazing.

Cozy Living: Timeless Toile and Warm Fall Ambiance

Across from the chairs and coffee table is our couch with a plush throw and throw pillows in a soft grey toile for a cozy vibe. Toile is classic and never goes out of style.

In between is a beautiful French table with an antique compote from France filled with natural pieces such as acorns and dried artichokes. Add these items to baskets, decorative bowls, or a tray. Add candle holders to add ambiance in the evenings while watching a movie, reading, or playing a favorite board game, under a cozy blanket

Lastly, is our buffet with an antique wood crate overflowing with my favorite fall foliage, dried hydrangeas with candle holders, and simple candles wrapped in French fabric.
