So let’s take a look at our kitchen to begin our fall tour and see a great way to add fall decorations to create a cozy home with natural elements fall decorating and best ideas now. One of my favorite things to add to our home is a new fall wreath. It adds an instant touch of fall to any room. I also add one for the holiday season. Last year I shared a beautiful Indian corn wreath with jewel tones and fall colors. This wreath is a great place to start if you are making a wreath for the first time. This blog post shares full details for this simple DIY. It adds the perfect touch of fall to any room or front door.
Think outside the box, and add a wreath as a centerpiece. Add them to the dining room table and coffee table and add a wreath as a centerpiece. This adds a big impact with simple candles in the center. Battery-operated candles are the perfect way to add ambiance during the cooler weather.
Cindy’s Candle Tip: The good news, these come with a remote and many timer setting options. I have these and love them. They are a simple way to make a cozy home when snuggling under a cozy blanket with a good book and pumpkin spice coffee.

Last year I shared an Indian corn wreath in rich jewel tones. This fall wreath would make a great addition to a front porch. These add a touch of fall and are free! It has natural fall elements for your home decor. The pieces can easily be found in any craft store or on Amazon. If this is your first wreath this simple DIY is a great choice!

When a new season arrives our china cabinet. It is one of my favorite places for fall decorating. One of the easiest ways to add fall colors is by using vintage items such as brown transferware. Filling this with small items like natural dried gourds in soft tones is one of my favorite ways to continue a natural fall theme. This is a great addition and makes a pretty focal point.

This time of year vintage items such as pitchers on a white platter are a perfect addition filled with mini white pumpkins. Acorns are my favorite things to add a natural touch of fall. Find these in your own yard or parks, I have quite the collection. I share an easy way to clean and preserve these for years. I also share how to save bare branches with acorn caps. Simple things are often the best way to make a big impact when adding autumn decor to our home decor.

Adding mason jars filled with popcorn kernels from our local grocery store with flameless votive candles reminds me of colorful Indian corn. This is an easy way to create a focal point in our china cabinet. Don’t you think? Another great choice is to add glass bottles filled with bare branches.

The good news is there’s great inspiration outside our front door and it’s free and there’s nothing better than the real deal, don’t you think? Plus, pieces from nature are a simple way to usher in the fall season. Add these to amber or green bottles, vases, or pitchers. This is a great way to add fall colors to your favorite places in your home.

Cindy’s Tree Branch Tip: Bringing fall leaves with branches from your yard? Wrap them in a large plastic bag, and place them in the freezer for 5 days. This will get rid of any insects.


Bring Nature Indoors: Pumpkin Stems and Nature for Autumn Decor
A simple way to add natural fall touches is by adding dried pumpkin stems collected from baby boos. I save pumpkin stems each year from real pumpkins from our front porch after the fall season. What’s a better way to add nature than using the real deal? One of the best ways to store these is in a paper bag in a cool dark place. A basement or closet is the perfect way to store these. The good news, it’s a great choice because it’s dry, cool, and a dark place. By the way, I share great ideas to add these to faux pumpkins. This will make them look like the real thing and make a beautiful focal point for any room this time of year.
Do you enjoy copper for the cooler months? I sure do and adding this to the top filled with more natural dried gourds and a metal cloche with a vine pumpkin adds a great touch and is another great way to add a natural look for the fall season.

Below is a basket filled with assorted pine cones and walnuts in their shell. Some are natural and others are painted with gold and champagne craft paint. Can you believe this basket is new? I share an easy way to add an aged look to new baskets as well as many ideas, ways, and ideas to add these to the home. Fall is especially the perfect time to add baskets throughout the house. A copper lantern with a candle adds a pretty soft glow in the evenings.

For the most part, I keep our kitchen table simple using a runner with a wooden tray and footed legs. I love footed legs on anything, don’t you? This is filled with natural walnuts from the local grocery store and assorted pine cones. Pheasant feathers from the craft store inside a white pitcher are the perfect way to complete a simple fall look.

Moving into the family room/living room as a focal point on our coffee table is one of my favorite things a large ironstone pitcher filled with pheasant feathers. This is a simple way
to add a natural look. The links for the pheasant feathers are the same I’m sharing. The pitcher is sitting on a wooden riser that I gave an update to blend with my vintage decor and takes moments. These are a must in our home decor. I use these every time of year. Also, a wood slab with bark adds texture along with a grapevine garland. I made a circle and connected it with a piece of floral wire. This is a great way to add the real deal and one of my favorite ways
to make a grapevine wreath. The good news, these are inexpensive budget friendly items.


Cozy Up Your Rooms: Simple Fall Ideas
One of the best ways to enjoy my favorite season is by burning a scented candle and a good book. I especially enjoy these during the cooler weather under a cozy blanket enjoying a pumpkin spice latte! It’s the simple things in life, don’t you agree?
Transform Your Bookcase: Easy Fall Ideas for a Cozy Room
The first thing seen when entering this room is our bookcase. And it’s perfect for fall decorations. One of the best parts about adding natural items and decorating this way during cooler weather is the big impact and cozy vibe it adds to our living room.
This is a great place for:
- Fall foliage from a tree in your own backyard
- Small pumpkins
- Vintage items
- Small items such as glass bottles or jars filled with autumn leaves in fall colors
- Candle holders
- Throw pillows
- Gourds, nuts, fall flowers, or baby boos from the local grocery store
I added my baby shoe, antique books bundled with satin ribbon and you guessed it natural pieces including dried artichokes, acorns, small pumpkins, pine cones, nuts, and florals.








On our hearth is a copper lantern with simple candles and dried artichokes to add warmth while enjoying a fire during our favorite season of the year. This large wooden acorn is from Home Goods and of course, it’s one of my favorite things. I have a passion for acorns. I share the perfect way the clean and preserve for crafts and decor. These last a long time. I have had my acorn collection for a decade! Again adding a natural grapevine garland adds more texture for autumn.
Cindy’s Fall Tip: Are you using tree branches from your yard with fall foliage? Wrap them in a large plastic bag, and place them in the freezer for 5 days. This will get rid of any bugs.
The Real Deal: Different Ways in the Home
More Autumn in the House
Next, across from the fireplace are windows that allow tons of afternoon light. We have two French chairs along with a cozy blanket a basket with an old book from Shakespeare, throw pillows, and dried lavender to sit and enjoy reading a good book. More natural elements such as a neutral basket, dried lavender, and grapevine pumpkin are a simple way to add autumn decor to the family room. The smell is amazing.
Cozy Living: Timeless Toile and Warm Fall Ambiance
Across from the chairs and coffee table is our couch with a plush throw and throw pillows in a soft grey toile for a cozy vibe. Toile is classic and never goes out of style.
In between is a beautiful French table with an antique compote from France filled with natural pieces such as acorns and dried artichokes. Add these items to baskets, decorative bowls, or a tray. Add candle holders to add ambiance in the evenings while watching a movie, reading, or playing a favorite board game, under a cozy blanket




Simple Fall Touches in the Family Room
The semi-open floor plan is one of my favorite things about our home so decorating for a new season has to be cohesive.
Across from the chairs and coffee table is our couch with plush throw and throw pillows in a soft grey toile for a cozy home. Toile is classic and never goes out of style.

Lastly, is our buffet with an antique wood crate overflowing with my favorite fall foliage, dried hydrangeas with candle holders, and simple candles wrapped in French fabric. Alongside is a shutter I recently gave an updated look using a brand new furniture paint that is fantastic and can be used in different ways. As the summer months are coming to an end, it’s the perfect time to visit any craft store. They are well stocked with glass bottles in fall colors. They have a great choice of faux fall leaves to add to floral arrangements. Faux pumpkins and colorful mums in rich jewel tones. These items will make a beautiful fall wreath for the front door.
