Easy DIY Moss Wreath

Hello everyone, today I’m sharing an easy DIY moss wreath. This wreath takes 10 minutes.

This begins our Seasonal Challenge hosted by Cindy from Cloches & Lavender and Terrie from Decorate and More with Tip.  This season’s challenge is featuring spring inspiration. So, Terrie and I have brought a group of bloggers together to share their inspiration.

If you are visiting from seeing Barbara at French Ethereal welcome and I hope you enjoyed her post today.

By the way, I immediately thought, I will be using moss for spring inspiration. So then, I had a wreath in my craft closet. Next, I had bought self stick moss from JoAnn Fabrics. After having my supplies I began my easy DIY moss wreath.

Supplies Needed:

  • wreath
  • self stick moss
  • scissors
  • glue gun and glue sticks

Steps to Make a Moss Wreath

First, I laid my moss and wreath on my craft table. I namely did this so I was able to measure and cut my moss. So then, I cut my moss into a strip and wrapped it around the wreath specifically to determine the length.

Next, I began wrapping my wreath. Incidentally, I had bought the self stick moss at JoAnn. After peeling the backing off the moss it is very sticky. Because of it being so sticky I needed a minimal amount of hot glue. For instance, I have bought self stick moss from Michael’s for other projects and I did need to use hot glue on all the seams.

As a result of this picture, you will also want to save moss you have leftover. Because the wreath has spaces fill in with the moss leftover.

Steps to Make a Stick Frame to Hang Around Your Wreath

Next, I brought sticks inside from the yard. So then, I cut the sticks 10″ and using the hot glue gun I add a small dot of glue to each corner. Hold a few moments to dry. After your pieces dry, cut branches to add to corners and glue. Hang the frame using florist wire. The stick frame adds dimension and also texture to the wreath.

As a rule, moss can also be used in many different ways in spring. For instance, I shared this wreath, it can also add a realistic look to nests or moss balls can be made easily. I will also be sharing a craft I did with moss balls soon.

PS. I’d love it if you’d share this at my link party, Sundays on Silverado, which is open now. 🌷

  9. I love your mossy wreath, Cindy! Funny, when I made my moss balls last year, the back was lightly sticky but really sticky would work great for many projects!! Enjoy your pretty wreath and thanks for inviting us to the hop. 🙂

I’ll look for your project for SYS for next week,
    Barb 🙂

  10. I love this Cindy! Anything “mossy” and I’m in! Also love the frame. There are so many downed branches from the storms around the country. What a great way to use them!
