Hello everyone, today I’m sharing our French Valentine décor in our hutch.
Today, I am also taking part in a Valentine’s Blog Hop hosted by Kippi from Kippi At Home.
I filled the hutch with red/white and pink/white transferware. These pieces work especially well to celebrate Valentine’s day.
In addition to the transferware, my father-in-laws William Shakespeare sonnets add a bit of romantic history.
Florentine is a favorite of mine, you can read about it in this post. I received Florentine shaped heart as a gift from this Etsy shop is a perfect addition to our French Valentine décor.
The Florentine heart mirror, crown, plasterware bust and Florentine tray add romantic elegance to the hutch.
A Heart Craft I Made Was Added to the Hutch
I purchased a paper Mache heart from Factory Direct Crafts This is a fun project which also adds romance and texture.
First, I cut self stick moss into two strips and began covering the heart, making sure they were pressed well. So then, I added two small squares to fill in the sides of the heart.
Roses are particularly a favorite for Valentine’s day. So then, after the moss, I added clear Elmer’s glue and sprinkled dried rose petals on top to dry.
Adding Candles is Romantic
I added a battery operated flameless candle to an antique pink teacup for an additional romantic touch.
I hope you enjoyed seeing our hutch for Valentine’s Day. Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day?

Love your french transferware. Valentines is such a special day. yes, I do decorate. I also love the inspiration I find such as yourself and many others.
P.S. Cindy, not sure if you can get into Blogger and update your profile with your website.
It shows your old blogspot site.
Thanks Linda. Look forward to see your inspiration.
I’m on WordPress. I kept that from the early years.
Cindy, your hutch looks so lovely decorated for Valentine’s Day! I have a soft spot for pink transferware…my everyday china is Old British Castles by Johnson Brothers. I especially love the plasterware bust and the rusty crown. I have a similar bust and it’s one of my favorite things. I love to “dress her up” in my vignettes. Adding the vintage Shakespeare books was the perfect touch to your romantic theme. Thanks for sharing your decorating talents! It was fun hopping with you 🙂
Everything looks amazing Cindy. Love the red transferware and all your heart touches. I love decorating hutches and it looks like you do too. Great job!
