Summer Porch Ideas

Good morning everyone, a heatwave is continuing in NJ.

Let’s talk summer porch ideas using flowers in containers and baskets.

Flowers are needing extra care during this extreme heat, therefore watering twice a day is a necessity. A basket on the front door looks pretty filled with deep pink flowers against the black paint.

Take a look at these pink beauties overflowing in their pots adding a warm touch as you approach the door.

  1. Hi Cindy. Your petunias are doing so well too. They like the heat and getting lots of drinks of water on these hot days. Mine are doing good too. We finally have cooled down some so watering only once a day again. Thankful for that. Have a great week.

  2. So pretty. Petunias in Texas are always a struggle. I love yours. They are beautiful in the pot you made. I hope the heat ends soon.

  3. These flowers are so beautiful, Cindy! From the basket on your front door to the French flower pot you made each container is fantastic. Your porch is gorgeous. The weather in Florida is hot, humid and rainy every afternoon. I’d never wish away the summer but I am so ready for a break in the hot temps. Hope you’re having a great summer! Hugs, CoCo

  4. Your petunias are gorgeous Cindy! Loving your beautiful summer porch my friend. Thank you for sharing with Charming Homes and Gardens.

  5. So pretty, Cindy! Love that pot you made. I really love the basket on the front door. I’ve had enough of the heat – next week looks fabulous, though! I should be watering my plants twice a day – that’s why yours looks so good and mine look meh!

  6. Very pretty, and you sure are correct on watering….seems to be constant here in N.Illinois. So hot, some flowers are kinda giving up …but we will have a week of no 90’s so maybe things will recover! I always love baskets on walls or doors! Sandi

  7. that vibrant pink in the basket is just gorgeous against your front door. we call them “million bells” here in Missouri, but not sure the real botanic name. just beautiful!

  8. Cindy, your front porch looks beautiful, and I’m envious of all of your pretty flower pots! They look perfectly country French…my favorite! The hot pink petunias look striking against your black front door. What a gorgeous welcome for your guests! I hope you have a blessed and happy week ahead!

  9. Your front door is absolutely fabulous!!! It is hot and humid here in Texas. I just completely cleaned off my porch yesterday because everything is dead. A cheery wreath of faux flowers will have to do. Hoping your sweet girl does well today.

    1. Thanks Laura. Since those pictures were taken everything us getting messy. It’s been so hot and now heavy rains. I’ll see what happens.

  10. Beautiful!! I am just reading that you lost power, Cindy. My youngest brother and sister-in-law lost theirs up in Southbury, Connecticut. Not good… Hang in there! <3 Your super bells are beautiful!!! Prayers for the power to be restored… <3

  11. We had about 2-3 weeks of hot weather, and now we are back down into the 70s and 80s here, so thankful for that! I don’t care much for the 90-100 degree heat. Your flowers on your front porch look amazing!

  12. Where did you fine the graphic transfer that you used on your terracotta pot. I love it so much! I save a bunch of pins over to my Pinterest. You have some wonderful ideas on your blog. Love it and subscribed to your newsletter.
