Updating a Fall Wreath

Hello everyone, this morning I’m sharing a simple way of updating a fall wreath .

Today is 10th on the 10th hosted by Ann from Apple Street Cottage.  Thank you  Ann for hosting each month.  I’m joined by a creative group of bloggers.

There’s a different theme every month and we need to keep our budget under $10 and this month I will be updating a fall wreath on a budget.

This is especially fun because we get to be creative with the theme while keeping to our $10 budget.

This month’s theme was anything and everything from apples to Halloween.

Immediately, I decided apples would be great for September because apple picking season begins in NJ, fun right?

So, after learning our theme, I started looking for fake apples.

After looking online, Factory Direct had fake Golden Delicious apples listed three for $5.59 and shipping therefore keeping me under budget.

I already had gilded walnuts I used for making a Fall Grapevine Citrus Wreath so I saved money again.

Next Step?

As a result of this wreath being around for a few years, updating the wreath felt necessary so I snipped a few of the branches to clean it up a bit.

Next, I placed my apples to get the placement correct.

Finally, I glued my apples as well as my walnuts into place

Besides staying within budget, I’m happy I decided to use this wreath on our front door for the fall season and for minimal fuss and money, it’s updated.

Do you try to repurpose and use what you already have in your home?

  1. Great wreath and how wonderful to re use and spruce up with one you had. Happy Thursday. xoxo Kris

  2. Cindy, I like that you updated your wreath. I didn’t even think about doing something like that; I could have updated the new door basket easily! 😉 Really like how colorful and full your wreath is and the Golden Delicious apples look really real!!! I’ve eaten many as they grow really well where we lived in Northern California in the foothills of El Dorado County (the Gold Rush area).

Great to be with you on today’s fall 10 on the 10th tour,
    Happy decorating,
    Barb 🙂

  3. Gah – Cindy, I just want to come over and craft with you! This is gorgeous. I love all the elements you’ve added and I can’t get over those apples. They look so real! Hugs, CoCo

  4. Your wreath turned out wonderfully! I like to upcycle projects whenever I want something to have a new look. It’s way cheaper too. I keep several wreaths here just for this purpose because I find it difficult to get out to shop. Those apples are amazing!
