Equipment

  • 1 airtight container
  • 1 Wilton Chocolate Melter (HERE) or double boiler
  • 1 Baking sheet - MY FAVORITE - (HERE)
  • 1 Parchment paper or wax paper
  • 1 1 cup measuring cup
  • 1 1 tsp. measuring spoon
  • 1 Spoon or Drizzle Scoop - I LOVE THIS FOR CANDY AND COOKIE DECORATING

Ingredients

  • 1 container Fresh blueberries or dried blueberries
  • 1 box Dewey’s lemon and Dewey’s French vanilla wafers – these can be found at WalmartAmazon, or the grocery store.
  • 1 bag Dark chocolate chips or dark chocolate bars – Ghirardelli - (HERE) White chocolate bars or white chips – Ghirardelli (HERE)
  • Coconut oil, sunflower oil, or vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Step 1: Washing and Drying Blueberries a Must for This Delicious Treat
After washing the blueberries, make sure they are completely dry. It’s important; one drop of water will cause the chocolate to seize and become a mess. While the blueberries are drying. Place the Dewey’s wafers in lemon and French vanilla on a parchment paper or wax paper-lined baking sheet
Cindy’s Note: At the bottom of this blog post, I will share a link to a sweet and salty chocolate potato chips that takes minutes of prep. I share details to avoid melting chocolate. The best way to melt a bowl of chocolate in the microwave, and why I’m not a fan of the microwave for melting a bowl of chocolate. However, if this is the best way for you to get the details!
  • Step 2: Blueberry Coating With Rich Chocolate Goodness
To make my rich chocolate blueberry coating, I added ½ cup of dark chocolate chips right to my Wilton Candy Melt, no oil needed. Adding oil makes the chocolate too runny. I used 72% rich dark chocolate “chips”, and they’ve got a good amount of cocoa butter, so they melt smoothly and are creamy.
Cindy’s Wilton Candy Melt Note: I can’t recommend this candy melt enough. (No, I don’t get compensated.) Any type of chocolate melts perfectly every time! You can use chocolate bars instead of chips. Chop the chocolate bars into small pieces before melting.
  • Step 3: A Delicious Treat with Melted Chocolate and Dry Blueberries
I used my Wilton drizzle scoop to add a nice coating of chocolate to each wafer. You can use the tip of a teaspoon, but honestly, I can’t recommend this drizzle scoop enough. (HERE) Then I added five clean and dried fresh blueberries, stacking them like a little pyramid, four on the bottom, one on top. The cookies act like a mini plate for blueberries, which I love. Then, drizzle dark and white melted chocolate over the top and let them set. So easy, so good!
  • Step 4: Snack Storage: White & Dark Chocolate Blueberries In an Airtight Container
Fresh berries, like white and dark covered blueberries, do best in an airtight container at room temperature for 1–2 days.
Dried blueberries? These hold up great!  Store them in an airtight container, and they’ll last for about a week at room temperature.
