Pretty Touches

I can’t believe it’s November already, Yikes.  The weather has been super in our neck of the woods.  Cool days with cool nights.  It has been my kind of weather.

Sunday I made two batches of cookies, salted caramel and pumpkin spice with semi-sweet chocolate chips.  The house smelled wonderful.

This is our eating area in our kitchen.  I love this little area with my red transferware dishes  and sheep.

This shows this little table that I love.  I redid this table a few years back.  I’d like you to see it’s transformation HERE

It went from ivory to this new look to blend with the colors in the great room

Imagine my surprise when John brought these limelights in as they were changing.  Imagine a happy dance happening.

We had so much torrential rain this summer I didn’t think I would get any to dry.  I tied them with twine and hung them upside down in a closet.  I’m planning to dry many more next year.

I love this piece I purchased from France with an Etsy gift card.  Look at the details and it’s perfect for holding my white pumpkin.

I purchased these butter pats from Nancy’s Daily Dish a while back.  I love the pheasants.  Aren’t the colors pretty?

Above is one of my favorite pedestals I bought a long time ago.  It’s heavy and has so much character.

These finials I have had for many years.  I decided to change them up a bit when we moved to this home.  They were pretty but I wanted to add more character and age.  I hope you go HERE about how I changed these.

I recently decided to do a little gilding to them to add even more charm.

A bit of gold here and there.

Below, you will see I added silver gilding to the bird finial.  I mixed gold and silver gilding wax together to get more of a pewter look.

Hope you enjoyed seeing this fun place in the kitchen.
