Pieces Come Together

When we built this home and decided this bookcase would be in the design I knew I wanted to have some antique pieces displayed.

First, I knew I had to sit on this decision for a while, I didn’t want to buy pieces  for the sake of buying antiques.

I wanted to take time to figure out what I was drawn to because as you know  many pieces are out there to choose from White Ironstone, Limoges, Transferware to name a few.

As you can see my decision was red and pink transferware with one piece of ironstone.  I didn’t want large pieces.  The bookcase is on the more slender side and didn’t want it overwhelmed.

I searched for the pieces that I loved and made my heart skip a beat.  Theses are the pieces that made it happen.

I think this vintage French mirror I purchased a couple of years ago with saucers from both my grandmothers’ with dried jasmine adds a romantic touch.

Champagne glasses are vintage and were a gift from years ago and are filled with dried pink rosebuds.  It adds a romantic feel I am incorporating into my décor.

Aren’t these antique pink books from France perfect, LOVE?  A piece of silver plate given to me by a friend from her grandmother’s collection adds a great touch with more dried jasmine buds.

I hope you enjoyed the pretty pieces. I also hope everyone in the Midwest is recovering from the brutal cold and some warmer temperatures are on the way for us all dealing with the cold.

Hello, my name is Cindy and welcome to Cloches & Lavender. I enjoy making our house a home with antiques and thrifted finds. Antiques are used as my staples in my dcor to remain on a budget. I will often upcycle pieces with paint to make them new again. I enjoy DIYs
