Hello everyone, I hope your week is off to a great start, today I’m sharing a Facebook Marketplace table find. In a word, I love all things French in our home and décor.
How I Found my French Table?
I bought the French table I was wanting from Facebook Marketplace. As a rule, Facebook Marketplace in our area for example, doesn’t ordinarily have gems like this table. So spotting this Facebook Marketplace table find made my heart skip a beat and I reached out to the seller.
The seller was asking $40 so I tried $35 and she accepted. My husband took his mask to pick up the table.
I found this this thrifted beauty that received hard work and a pretty update that may interest and inspire you.
The table is the finishing touch to our great room. The gilding and French touches add charm and character.
This piece was a simple gilded thrifted find that also was a great addition!
In the meantime, for this price I thought painting was in the cards. That was disappointing, I love old French tables.
After John brought my Facebook Marketplace table find home he happily mentioned the table is in great shape except for one hinge. Once fixed the doors closed.
In the meantime, I inspected the table and it didn’t need painting. Having the gilding intact and the wire for each door section perfect is important.
It only needed a good cleaning. A few scratches needed fixing.
The Technique Used to Fix the Scratches
I fixed the scratches with a simple process using a 120 grit sanding sponge and a little water. Lightly sanding removed the scratches.
Have you found any pieces on Facebook Marketplace or thrifting that finished a room in your home? If you have let me know what you found.
