Hello my readers, today I’d like to share a bread I have been making for years. It’s a huge hit with family and friends.
If you follow me on Instagram, I posted pictures of homemade stuffed breads I made over the weekend. I will be sharing the recipes right here. I enjoy creating different fillings for the breads. These are my recent ideas I have made for my family and friends, they have been a big hit!
They were family tested and approved during the fall and winter months.
These are all easy recipes and don’t take too much cooking. Perfect for parties and family gatherings.
Pepperoni bread: oven 400 degrees
Ingredients:
- 28 slices of Hormel sliced pepperoni, not sliced too thin from your deli. Yes 28, I have perfected the amount and Hormel pepperoni works best.
- Shredded Mozzarella, not wet
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 1 fresh Pizza dough….this can be bought at your local pizzeria or you can make your own
- sheet pan flour lightly
Spread dough out on the sheet pan, see picture
Place slices of pepperoni as you see in the picture. Don’t extend over the edge more than shown or it will leak out.
Next sprinkle the shredded cheese and spread over the pepperoni.
Add remaining slices. You don’t want to use more pepperoni since this is a bread and not a sandwich.
Fold one side over as shown and then remaining side. I lightly press the dough together.
For the ends, gather the dough and make a slightly sealed edge with fingers nd fold over as pictured. Remember, I’m not a food blogger.
Lastly, lightly brush with the egg to give it a beautiful golden color.
If I am making one bread which is rarely the case I bake it on the bottom shelf for 15 minutes. Once the timer goes off I move it to the middle shelf for another 15 minutes or until golden brown.
For two loaves I begin the same way and after the first 15 minutes I swap shelves with each bread. I have been making these for 25 years and have always done it this way and it is perfection every time.
I hope you enjoy this as much as my family has over many, many years. Stay tuned, three different versions coming.
That sounds yummy!
