Shelf Styling

Hello sweet friends, how’s everyone doing?  I know this is a difficult time for many with the virus going on right now.  I firmly believe we are a strong country and have the best in the medical field to get us through this scary time.

This month instead of the Thrift Store Challenge we are showing a shelf we styled in our homes using what we have to fit with our decorating styles.

I recently showed how I upcycled this mantle and church frames I found thrifting weeks ago. you can see it HERE

If you have been following me, you know I have a love for cloches and lavender, see what I did there, ha, ha?  If you are new to Cloches and Lavender welcome and I hope you will follow along where you can gather decorating ideas and painting techniques along with an occasional recipe for fun.

I shopped the house and added some fun pieces I have collected over the years.

The Mckoy pitcher filled with lavender is a recent find.  Lavender adds a French touch and is perfect to use all year long.  Mixing seeded eucalyptus and a rose bud gives the corner of the shelf some softness.

The vintage flower pots mixed with antique books and pretty ribbon adds texture and interest.

This French cloche is a piece I haven’t used in a long time.  I actually have been wondering where it has been and found it in my husband’s office closet of all places.  Placing the vintage bird finial and rusted crown added a whimsical touch.

Finishing this shelf with a piece of Florentine seemed to be fitting. I love Florentine and enjoy mixing elegant and rustic touches in décor throughout our home.

My thrifted candlestick adds a romantic feel I as it illuminates the piece gilded beauty of the Florentine plaque.  My husband brought two plaques home for me one Saturday when he went to pick up a piece I purchased from the Thrift store, I’m one lucky lady!.

I lit this at dusk last evening so I was able to show how beautiful the glow of the candlelight is with the crystal accents of the candlestick.

    1. Thanks Tara, it’s fun having a new spot to change things around. I can’t get enough Florentine.

I have been reading all your posts so you know. I have asked everyone I can why and no one knows why I can’t leave comments on some blogs.
