Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?
Our girl Peanut has been on prednisone, pain medication and muscle relaxers for two and half weeks. The first week was scary and heartbreaking hearing her scream. We were very scared and it was heartbreaking.
First few days brother Reeses wouldn’t leave her side
Anyway after almost three weeks she’s on the mend and we visit the vet Saturday to see if she can get weened off her meds.
Getting back to normal. Those faces!!
This past week I’ve been finishing up a few crafts for Christmas. I silver leafed many ornaments. It can be a little messy but I found it relaxing, I was surprised.
I purchased Mona Lisa silver leaf sheets from Amazon. They have improved this brand from years past. At times when leafing alot of product was wasted. They have it under the name Mona Lisa Powerball leaf . The improvements they have made don’t cause a lot of waste.
Important step with leafing is patience and burnishing the leaf enough to get a smooth appearance.
I will be using these balls in vignettes.
Another project I tackled is using silver gilding wax on small pinecones. It went fast and was easy. After I waxed them I spent time rubbing the excess wax in to the pinecones so no residual wax was left. This is a very important step to take your time with and not rush. Reason, to avoid wax getting on things and to make sure it’s dry. Wax if not rubbed in well can get tacky.
I plan on using these pinecones in various places.
I’m looking forward to sharing my Christmas decor right after Thanksgiving.
I will be spending the weekend getting the house ready for Christmas and our Thanksgiving feast we are hosting.
As soon as the big weekend is over I will be sharing Christmas decor and plans I have for baking and cooking.
I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your friends and family.
Oh Cindy to see those sweet faces together. I just want to kiss their faces. So happy to hear Peanut is doing better. How sweet that Reeses stayed by her side when she was in a lot of pain. Just glad the meds worked and she is on the mend. It is so hard to see them suffer in anyway. I love the pinecones. They are going to look so pretty around your house. It is getting to be that time of year we all are getting ready for decorating. I cannot believe Thanksgiving is coming soon too. This time of year just flies. With Thanksgiving being later this year it will feel like Christmas comes quickly right after. Enjoy getting your Christmas crafts done.
Hugs,
Kris
Thanks Kris. Everyday I say to them you’re so cute mommy can’t stand it. Reeses was beside himself especially when she would scream. Thrilled were over the hump.
She’s almost back to herself. Sassing and talking up a storm.
Bugs me when Thanksgiving is this late.
Kisses to Buddy. Reeses and Peanut say woof.
Hugs,
Cindy
Awww, those faces woof xoxo
