October is ending and Thanksgiving is around the corner, how did that happen?
I want to share our front porch with you for 2019.
I love mums but for me mums never make it long enough and will be gone before Thanksgiving, So, for our home, I mostly choose to use flowering Kale. It’s hardy and looks pretty for Thanksgiving.
Last Christmas I finally purchased this basket for our front door from Ballard. Why oh why did I wait so long? This basket is gorgeous and is a staple for our front door for all seasons. Look at the purple of the Kale popping against the black door.
This vintage tub is a thrifted find and love it filled with more kale. Since this picture was taken they have been opening more and more and sure are putting on a show of beauty with their white and purple centers. You will notice below in an evening shot a change.
You may notice the small white pumpkins are missing from the daytime pictures. We have a chipmunk who visits often and decided the pumpkins were his so what to do?
I made this pumpkin sign and I love it. I feel it adds so much charm to the porch. Why I didn’t make this right away I have no idea. So thank you Mr. Chippy for forcing me to come up with a solution.
John grabbed a piece of wood he had in his stash and I white washed it and left it heavier in some areas to give it a more natural look. I used several different stencils for the wording and instant charm is added. I think you may see a sign on our Christmas porch this year too.
The glow of the lanterns on the porch add a warm cozy feel with their shimmering light. I never have purchased a bumpy pumpkin before. I must say I enjoyed the texture this year.
One last full look., okay two.
Cooking and baking is on the schedule for this week to get ready for a family gathering happening soon. I will be sharing some photos of the food plus my table for the fun. Stay tuned!

I really like that basket on your door.
Seeing your ornamental cabbage makes me think I need to plant some. I had several in the garden last year.

Cindy, I love the Adirondack basket on your door and the arrangement. I bought two of those and made fall arrangements for my doors last year. I loved the baskets and my arrangements, yet my husband complained of their size on the doors. We downsized this year from house to a city loft, and so the baskets were sold at a yard sale for others to enjoy this past September. I’ll bet you’ll get plenty of use from it, whether on the door or in the house!
Your front porch looks awesome!
Your front porch is gorgeous and inviting!
Cindy your front porch is decorated so pretty for fall. I love the greenery you used in your basket and the pumpkin sign. The lanterns are my favorite because I have a thing for lanterns. Looks wonderful.
