Today the corbel that received an update HERE found a friend.  This antique shutter has been around for many years.  I love the chippiness, I made up a word and it has so much character.  Ignore the light switch, I can’t move it and I don’t take real life things out of my walls for photos, sorry

I don’t know about you but Boxwood is one of my favorite things to add to French Country décor.  Of course I found an in expensive but beautiful metal crown to nestle inside.  Me and my crowns are an obsession.  I mean come on, look at the lace feel of the metal with oxidized metal roses.  Where do I find my crowns, well many places but the metal ones shown often are from Etsy.  The shop is Faded Fragments HERE  The shop owner is fantastic to work with and has many old vintage lamp and metal pieces she puts together.  I have requested styles of crowns and she works with me definitely take a look through her shop.

Look at the age and patina of this old shutter.  If I remember correctly it is from a 1900’s home in Pennsylvania.

Love the way this corbel turned out with different color with painting layers.  Sitting on a pedestal adds more grandness.

Dried Limelight beauty, need I say more?  Our blooms always amaze me every year.   They are so large and full of grace and make my heart sing.   Hydrangeas are a staple in our home during  fall and early spring and don’t exit until Christmas décor.  The feel they add can’t be imitated in my eyes.  You will see them in more posts.  Easy part, as the season moves along I add pumpkins to them throughout the house and instant change.

An antique book adds a bit more height against the shutter.  This zinc flower bucket has been in my basement for five years,  I did a dry brush of  ASCP Old white and rubbed most of it off and did a bit of dark wax here and there and it gave it a wonderful aged appearance.  I added one of my favorite French graphics using the reverse transfer method.  I’m doing this to a flower pot for the inside of the new French armoire for our great room.  If there’s interest in how to accomplish this I will give a tutorial \after the reveal.  Be warned it’s fun and addicting.

Until next time enjoy!
