Spring Kitchen

Happy weekend everyone.  I wanted to share our eating area for spring.  I used many of my favorite things in this spot.

You may realize by my blog name I have a love of cloches and lavender, see how I worked my name in there?  I adore lavender, the smell and beauty it has whether fresh or dried.  It’s in our home all the time.

Funny, I enjoy lavender so much because when I get a fresh dried bunch it puts my allergies in overdrive.  My trick, I put it a bit of distance away from me for a few days and I’m good to go.

One of my other loves is hydrangeas and who doesn’t adore them?  Fresh or dried I’m a fan and can’t wait for them to bloom every year.

Other pieces I love are the  pieces from my smallish collection of antiques I have collected.  The antique French crate is a love of mine as well as the vintage clay pots and cloche bottom.

My compote shipped from France is another favorite and has found it’s happy place on this small table I painted a few years ago.

This antique shutter is another favorite of mine and I made the sign attached.  I have fun playing with different techniques and stencils.  Loving this stencil, I decided to use joint compound mixed with paint to achieve the color I wanted and applied it with a putty knife.  I enjoy this because it elevates a simple stencil giving it dimension.

Hope you enjoyed the view and enjoy your weekend.

  1. Hi Cindy,
I am not sure I have ever seen your whole dining room. Your table is gorgeous and I love the vignette. The windows that let all that light in are fabulous and I love the shutter over the windows. Beautiful. Happy Saturday.
    Hugs,
    Kris

  2. Cindy, I do love your compote and the curtains too. I am a big fan of toile anything. Your shutter looks fabulous. It’s hard to get fresh lavender here unless one grows their own but hydrangeas are everywhere which is a good thing. I enjoyed your post and I hope you’re keeping well. Wishing you a lovely week and Happy Easter!

  3. Your kitchen is full of so much charm and character. Love all the details in there and especially the little grey table you have placed the compote on. Was it painted with milk paint?

    1. Hi Mary thanks for the visit. I painted it with ASCP in Graphite and I did a wash with Old Ochre ASCP. Clear and dark wax. Also added the appliques.

Enjoy the rest of your week

      Cindy

  4. I am not sure how I missed this post, but everything looks so pretty! Did you share at Thursday Favorite Things? If not, you should link up this week.

    Beautiful!

    1. Thanks Amber and yes I did. I’ll be linking up this week. I just did a quick post about our deck update and a little frame I painted.

Getting harder because parties are ending quickly these days.

      Cindy
