Simple Love

I don’t decorate for Valentine’s day in our home.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m as sappy as they come.  This girl loves LOVE.  I’m slowly stepping up my love of French with a bit of a romantic feel in our home.

I added this antique a few months back.  I used it for Christmas and love it placed on this table I painted a years back.

The wood under this is from an old French wine crate my John took apart for me.  I enjoy the simplicity and texture it adds to this beautiful spot.  Not much else is needed except dried pink rosebuds which in my opinion adds some whimsy and romance.

Below is the marking of this beauty.  Even that’s romantic in feel.

  1. Steve and I don’t do much for Valentine’s Day. We’ll most likely eat a gourmet meal prepared by me at a table set lovingly by me. We’ll finish the night off with a Domino tournament. We play “first to win 10 hands”.

  2. That is such a pretty dish! We will spend it at home with a home cooked meal and whatever is on tv.

  3. So lovely!!!! The rosebuds are as romantic as it gets, and the vessel is gorgeous. Love your lovely furniture piece. I love simple decor and this is beautiful.
Your VD sounds perfect. Maybe we’ll go out or a meal at home, not sure yet. Happy Valentine’s Day.

  4. Cindy, your dish looks charming with the pink rosebuds in it! I like the crazing in it as well. That means it has been loved by another at one point. I don’t decorate for Valentines Day either although I do leave my little tree up in the family room because it is decorated in reds and we enjoy the glow of the lights at nighttime when we’re watching TV. I do have something special planned for my hubby for Valentines Day and I will share about it in my next post. Happy Valentines Day!

  5. What a pretty dish with the rosebuds. I don’t decorate for Valentine’s day other than a few stitched hearts in a bowl. We will enjoy dinner at home together, too. It’s a terrible night to go out to a restaurant!

  6. Love the transfer ware dish. I am not a big decorator for Valentine’s Day. Just usually make a nice dinner for Terry and I and indulge in a good dessert.

  7. So pretty! Because of work schedules we have never been able to go out for dinner on Valentine’s Day. I do make treats for my husband (who has the biggest sweet tooth on the planet) and my grandkids. I love making them and they love eating them. 🙂

  8. Simple love indeed Cindy. Those rosebuds are the perfect touch to add a whole lot of romance to that vignette!

  9. …back by to say thanks for your visit on my adding a little spring to my bookcases…I want to paint them soooo bad but dread even the thought….(I am so lazy)..think I will add some light colored wall paper to the backs of the shelves….that MIGHT help…if not..I will paint them in the spring…
We had winds that reached 60 mph yesterday;…trampolines were flying…everything that wasn’t fastened to the ground got airborne…….

    1. Thanks for the visit bj. Wallpaper will add a nice update to the bookcases. Only issue with that may be if you decide to change down the road. Maybe paper plywood that fits snug or heavy cardstock. We have terrible winds today

    1. Thanks bj, I’m okay. Been busy with projects and taking care of our home again.

Taking care of our home and my pups have always come first.

I also have been getting pieces for my Etsy shop that I am still trying to get going. Sold some but not where I want to be by any means. Changing the name to my blog name for better search engines. Adding other things.

So nice for you to reach out I’m very touched. I’ll be posting very soon.

      Hugs
