Copper Beauty

Today I am sharing a piece I found on Etsy from France.   I was going to wait to purchase a dough bowl but after thinking about not only the cost, I said, to myself a piece of copper would be perfect with our colors in our Dining room.

So I started my hunt on Etsy.  It took me a few days but that is  half the fun, the “Hunt”.

I found an antique copper Jardinière with Delft porcelain handles.  It is from 1940, maybe not old enough for some but for me I fell in love the moment I saw the pictures.

It has nice patina and I love the Delft handles and the legs.  After I made the purchase I stumbled upon another one that looked exactly the same and the same era.  I felt comfortable even more about my decision because seeing it again in another shop I was still in love.

I knew I would fill this to the brim with dried hydrangea.  This is from one side.

Here she is from the other side.

A close up of one of the Delft handles.

The other handle and some of the patina.

Close up of the feet.

In this photo you notice we have browns in the room and I thought the copper would work better with the tones of the I have going on here.

These candle holders I made a few  years back  HERE out of old table lamps I didn’t use anymore since we downsized.  Why not make them into something useful?  The base is pretty so mixing colors of chalk paint was in order with a bit of silver gilding wax.

These bases are pretty and I added metal rusted crowns to add some whimsy.  Besides I love me some crowns. See post HERE

One final shot.

I will be back with a post on some other changes in this room as soon as we are finished planting.

I have plans to antique a mirror in a door I have leaning against a side wall in the room.

Have a super week.  I will be finishing designing pots for our deck.
