Christmas is right around the corner. It was a baking marathon this weekend. I will show pictures of the cookies very soon.
Today, I want to share vignettes and the tree from the great room. First, here are vignettes around the room.
This is my cabinet from Décor Steals purchased a while ago which I change with every season using what I have in my stash.
Antique mustard jars, my grandmother’s silver and bottle brush trees.
The buffet I painted and aged with glaze and paint on our long wall. The bowl is from years ago, a PB purchase, love its size. It is filled with greens, ivory berries, sugared faux fruit and finial I purchased so long ago I can’t remember where I made the purchase.
Our Byer’s Choice made an appearance this year along side of real mini Cedar trees wrapped in plaid ribbon.
Jingle pillows from PB I purchased on sale a few years back. The wood box is an antique we bought years ago in Northern NJ. We store our firewood inside which keeps it neat and out of sight.
You may spot the Dining Room to the left and can see our foyer is connected. A somewhat open floor plan allows us to enjoy all our beautiful things while sitting and relaxing. A major plus coming from a larger typical Center Hall Colonial where most things were closed off.
Next, our bookcase on the opposite wall. For safety reasons John had to take this picture for me in the evening. This holds many of my goodies seasonally.
My skater Byer’s Choice along side an Apothecary jar filled with snow and small bottle brush trees.
Love these plaid boxes with another bottle brush tree adorned with burnished silver balls. I am a HUGE fan of bottle brush trees, they are throughout our home during Christmas.
A box I made a few years ago with my Frosty the Snowman alongside some more trees. This is along side an ornament Audrey bought me years ago from Neiman Marcus. I used a book of Christmas stories as a riser.
A closer look.
This picture shows the skates I purchased from Décor Steals filled with berries and another frosted bottle brush tree. This wonderful plaid box is filled with many goodies. Yes, another bottle brush tree that I spotted on Etsy one year that is placed inside a vintage knob. The little skate was a gift and I just love it teamed up with the tree and vintage looking ornaments.
Don’t you love the old wooden sled paired with the bottle brush wreath?
The last shot of the bookcase has a box from Home Goods purchased years ago filled with Vintage bottle brush trees and a battery operated candle for some soft light in the evenings.
Another close-up and notice the French motif inside the lid.
Our mantle is kept very simple not to take away from the bookcase and the TV is in the center.
Reeses and Peanut stockings and OOPS, forgot to put wood in the fireplace. As you may notice, we use this often.
Our Christmas centerpiece fills a wince barrel top from Italy with many of my favorites.
I know many would change the candle out, however, I take the approach of this is really how we live. My blog is not about staging, this is about our real lives.
I LOVE these deer. They are very old and from Michael’s and I use them somewhere every year. Love the details.
Lastly, our tree for this room. This year I purchased a galvanized bucket and used the Lysol toilet bowl cleaner trick. I really like how this turned out.
Thank you for taking this tour.
Hope everyone is staying warm, it’s mighty cold. More t o come.
