The baking has begun, first batch down, Pistachio, white chocolate chip with a few dried cranberries. These are a fantastic cookie, soft, sweet but not too sweet and the Pistachio flavor is wonderful.
Today I thought I would show our foyer with the pretties to greet my guests for Christmas.
My French basket with a plaid throw and toile packages I wrapped in the fabric many years ago. An Irish walking stick and a set of jingle bells John and I bought 20 some years ago.
You may notice through the foyer we have the rug by the front door as well as our area rug. With a barker in the house this is a necessity. The hardwood would be ruined from his little feet.
This terrarium I purchased over the fall from Hobby Lobby when Suzy from Worthing Court mentioned they had them, thanks Suzy.
I love the look this piece adds to our décor and will be used often I am sure.
It is filled with bottle brush trees that glisten. I used Christmas wrapping paper rolled with velvet Noel ribbon.
Continuing with the glistening theme I used my white bird and a little crown I had for years and dry brushed matte silver.
The Luminara candle finishes the look off. I love the glow it adds.
This is what it looks like during the day. The days have been cloudy but even with the clouds we get a lot of light.
These trees are along side a gilded Artichoke on top of a book our lamp sits on.
On the back of the front door I made a Noel sign this year. I bought letters from Michael’s and did a light coat of dark wax. John drilled the holes for me and threaded the ribbon. I used the beads in silver to a grapevine wreath for the O.
This next photo you may spot my little man Reeses sitting and looking for the UPS man or someone to go by so he can bark at them. He follows me everywhere all day long. He is in my office right now laying behind me while I type. Truth be told I LOVE it.
Notice the light we get and this is a cloudy day. Our tree is in its usual place inside the sled that I repainted and did a raised stencil.
My metal ladder leans behind purchased from Magnolia Market. I hung some Christmas fabric along with a new bottle brush wreath that is held with pretty ribbon.
The antique bells I bought years ago on a shopping trip with my girl Audrey.
The tree in the evening adds a wonderful glow along with the candle from the Terrarium.
This pillow from Pottery Barn ends our Christmas Foyer. I hope you enjoyed seeing our foyer and are having a great week! Stay tuned more to come!
