Hello everyone, I am very behind on post emails.  I will explain another day.  Nothing very serious.

It has been humid as of late, not a fan of humid weather at all but that is summer in NJ.

I made changes in the kitchen and I’m loving the changes that have been made for the rest of the summer.  If I have John climb the attic steps one more time, there may be a problem, LOL.  We call that the stockroom.

One of the changes is to the kitchen table with a basket I purchased from Michaels’ adding grain sack fabric I had on hand.  I decided to use a pretty cloche I saw at Home Goods a month ago.  Since there is red in our curtains and chair pads I decided red is going to be my accent color in the kitchen.  More of a deep red nothing shocking.

Under the cloche you will notice an advertising transferware piece I purchased from Nancy’s Daily Dish before we moved.  This is holding pieces of my grandmothers silver.

I placed a bird finial that I’ve had for years along with a nest and a tin heart with Paris on it which I purchased from Rosemary at Villabarnes.

I added this French cup I received as a gift on this beautiful cake stand.  My friend Audrey gave me this the first time we met.  Love it!!  I added a bit of Spanish moss with some faux Lavender sprigs I had on hand to add a touch of whimsy.

The other change I made is in the corner thanks to Fixer Upper.  One of my new addictions on HGTV.  I purchased the metal ladder from them which I mentioned a while ago.  I added some grain sack fabric along with toile fabric I had on hand.  My mini preserved Boxwood wreath finishes it quite nicely with a grain ribbon.

You may notice the explosion of dried Hydrangea in my olive bucket from Décor Steals.  I didn’t go super light in color because I enjoy these rustic colors in our home.  I find the balance is better with our color scheme throughout the house.  I purchased these beauties from Save on Crafts, some on sale and some not.

I added the mate to the shutter I have in foyer to the kitchen above the door.  Looking at it in the post I just decided something needs to be added, maybe a Boxwood wreath or grapevine wreath, stay tuned.

Now, on to other small vignettes in the kitchen, I used a red transferware platter that Audrey gave me for my birthday in April, LOVE!!!  My collection is slowly starting and I like that so I am able to enjoy the process more.

I placed a green mason jar filled with my love of lavender along side a French flower-pot I made filled with a few Hydrangea.  I finished this with a lovely amber crackle glass piece that was my moms, very special.  I kept one of my Roosters in the mix, my French Country kitchen always has one.

Down further on the same side of the kitchen, I have a vignette of items I use to cook with often.  A salt-box to hold my coarse salt and my Herbs de Provence jar from Williams Sonoma I have had for years.  In the mix I added a pewter pitcher that was moms adding a green check napkin to hold my wooden utensils for cooking.  The pepper mill sits on a small plate that says Paris I purchased from a craft fair years ago.  I like having fresh pepper on hand while cooking.  Notice I’m saying for cooking often, MUSIC TO MY EARS!

The last vignette down a bit further is on a pedestal I purchased from Antique Farmhouse a while ago with transferware plates stacked.  These are from HG and I placed vintage tart tins also from Rosemary inside a birds nest.  I coupled that with small bouquets of lavender next to a small white cloche from Pottery Barn I purchased years back.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the changes in the kitchen.  Have a great start to the week.
