Our first day of spring brought us snow, not what one expects but that is how it goes. It’s still chilly in Northern NJ, but the sun is finally shining. Spring has to make an appearance sooner or later so, I figured it was time to get some spring groove on with the mantle and bookcase in the great room.
Be ready for MANY pictures.
Remember the flower pots I spoke about, well, some of them are here decked out for spring. I’m so pleased with how things turned out. I can use these pots all spring/summer.
Let me start with the bookcase.
The larger pot on the bookshelf I through together yesterday. I forgot to take a before picture. This pot wasn’t what I though I was ordering. Instead of peat it was coconut. I was a bit worried since it was hairy but it worked out fine. I’m in love with all the graphics I used on the pots. All the peat pots are painted baguette Masion Blanche and I added some piping I had on hand to the tops to give them a more finished look.
As you can see much lavender was used, big shock I know. I am a big fan of Lavender and green together also, it just works.
On the mantle I used apothecary jars I had and filled them with faux lavender. I have to say, I was shocked when I saw this in Michael’s, their faux flowers have really come a long way.
The moss balls are in a wooden crate Audrey had made for me from an Etsy shop. Sorry, I don’t know the name. Take a look at the lavender and green, just perfect marriage.
Other side of mantle.
The lavender pinecones are from Save On Crafts, love that place. They are Lodgepole lavender. I never saw these before and when I did I grab a bag.
Spring is appearing all around the house more to come, stay tuned!!
I hope everyone has a great start to their week.
