Hello everyone, I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and time with your family and friends.
When we got our kitchen cabinets done I made sure I had them save me a couple of doors for some projects.
Since I’ve been doing the transfer images on clay pots with some success, I decided to take a shot at doing it on a painted wood surface. So I thought that I would convert a used cabinet door into a wall hanging.
I painted this cabinet door with Annie Sloan French Linen, then used the new metallic silver wax for the accents on the inside and the outside edges of the door. For the flat center panel I used Annie Sloan Country Grey.
After letting the paint cure for a couple of days, I selected an image from The Graphics Fairy and used the Mod Podge method.
Once the transfer was complete, I added a new knob from Lowes with a tassel I already had on hand. This was a fun project that cost almost nothing since I re-used the old door. It now has a home on my office wall.
