Home Office Finale’

Hello Everyone!

I am posting today about the finishing touches in my office.  You will notice many things in my office such as the cabinet with my French phone on top.  That cabinet was a purchase from JC Penney many years ago and has had many travels through the home.  It started out plain white and it was $50.00. I got my first itch to try faux on this cabinet.  I had no idea what I was doing but I decided to just take a chance and do it, sometimes you  just has to go for it, I did and I still love it.  Now it found a new place in my home office for files and storage.

The crystal piece is new.  I purchased it from Exposures and I love the sparkle it adds to the room.  In the morning when the sun comes in the windows the crystals are very pretty.

The curtains in the room are from Country Curtains, I love the touch of formality they add and are a steel-gray color with scroll work and a touch of flowers, very pretty.

My desk went from a country desk to the desk you see now and the chair is from Ballard Designs, a favorite of mine.  It ties the colors of black and ivory which are the main colors in the room.  On my desk I use a piece Mercury glass that I received as a Christmas present this year for a pen and pencil holder.  I think it adds some sophistication.

There is a piece of tin above my desk that I speak about in an earlier post, I got many years ago from a store in Northern New Jersey about an hour from me and it used to have a mirror inside and I decided to take it out and add a small piece of toile fabric and a piece of glass.  If you remember, the toile was then added to a pot of tea that steeped for a bit and the lights I purchased many years ago from Pottery Barn and they since have gotten new shades to update them from Ballard Designs.

I have a beautiful view outside my office of the mountains so I decided to purchase a chair and ottoman from Home Decorators, for times when I am reading a magazine or want to take a rest and enjoy the view.  Thank you for taking the time to read my post and look forward to hearing from you and reading your comments.

  1. The furniture and color scheme you have chosen, give your office a very relaxing and appealing look, a place where anyone would want to go to work. I like the fabric board you have on the wall also.

  2. The room is so neat and tidy! A relaxing room to work in. Did you make that framed toile above your computer? I love it!!! And the metal tree with crystals is beautiful! So many possibilities with that piece!
