This mantle is in our great room and is covered with an old-fashioned garland covered with sugared fruit. The candle holders I purchased at Save-On-Crafts for $24 for both; I thought that was a great deal! I decided to fill them with cranberries and then add battery operated candles which work on a timer to add to the festive effect.
You will also notice our Peanut and Reeses stockings hanging from the stocking holders filled with berries and holiday greenery.
On the mantle, I am sure you may remember these large gates from the fall, we just added some plain and simple berry wreaths to match the decor.
The hearth you will see one of my French Flower Buckets I made that is filled with berries and greenery and on the other side of the hearth is a silver tin I painted filled with Christmas ornaments.
I hope you enjoy these pictures.

Doni,
Thank you so much, I am very happy with our mantle this year.
Everything looks beautiful! Now do Peanut and Reeses get into Christmas with presents and stockings? Our family dogs have always been big on opening presents, etc.
Not really, they just sniff and take their bones that they usually get and run.
Cynthia
Hehe — take the goodies and go

Cynthia
i LOVE the two arched pieces on your pretty mantle! the candle holders were a great deal. love the french bucket filled with the greenery, too:)
I love both of your mantels. First off I am partial to white painted mantels. I loved the Santa hat and candy on the hearth of the other fireplace. This one has the fabulous arches.
Thank you so much and thank you for hosting. I appreciate your lovely comment.

Love the gates Cynthia. I love white mantels. Mine is wood stained. Hubby would pass out if I told him I wanted to paint it. Going white in the basement when we finish it. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.

I’m fumbling around looking for our home defibrillator!!! Oh, my gosh!!!!!!! Those gate doors are MAGNIFICENT!!!! I mean, really…..MAGNIFICENT!!! I love the way you added the wreaths to showcase the iron insets at the top. The sugared fruits among the greenery are really pretty and a great way to bring shine to the mantel. This is really, really cool!!!!!!!
I am following your blog now too.
