Now that I took the chance and time learning the transfer process on the small pots with lavender, I figured I would try my hand at some larger pots I had in the garage.
I used the same technique – Gesso and a gray wash base coat and then applied the ink jet transfers I printed from Graphics Fairy and it worked out really well on these four additional pots.
I will use these four pots – two larger pots (they are 12 inches high) and two medium pots (they are 8 inches high) to display some of my fall items, whether it be outside with mums or inside with pumpkins or gourds with some fall hay.
I also plan on using these pots for many displays through the year, the Christmas Holidays, spring, winter and fall (I will show my fall thouches in a week or two). They add such charm and French flair that is prevalent throughout our home and is becoming more prevalent as the years go on.

They look great! I’m imagining them with pumpkins and some moss.
I have some ideas….
your pots look great where did you print the graphics from and what is Gesso and how does it work?susie Date: Sun, 26 Aug 2012 16:08:53 +0000 To: siameseguru@hotmail.com
I got the graphics from Graphics Fairy and the gesso from Amazon. Some craft and artists stores carry this product. I just painted on two thin coats of the Gesso. You can get more info from my post French Inspired Flower Pots with a Lavender Flair. I hope I helped.
Cynthia
Love them! I hate touching clay pots… Freaks me out for some reason.. Maybe I’ll get one of my girls to make them for me
It is actually a very rewarding process.
Cynthia
Beautiful! You did a fantastic job, I’m going to have to try the gesso
These pots are lovely! I can see them with fall and Christmas decorations.
I can’t wait to fill these with goodies for all the holidays

So pretty! I love these pots. You did a great job.
Thanks very much.
Your pots are so pretty and you’ve used some of my favorite graphics, too! I bought a pot on clearance ~ black, with a faux plant in it. Not really feeling the black but you’ve given me thoughts of painting it and prettying it up!
These are so gorgeous Cynthia! I love the French labels. You’ll have to start selling them on Etsy for people like me who don’t have the time
The large pots turned out just as fabulous as the smaller ones! I think I might have to try it out on some of my pots now….
~Des
I love the pots, great job! I need to repot all of my houseplants and wanted some unique ones that will go with the changes I’m making in my livingroom.

Love these….and think I shall grow some…patience from the patience pot! These are just great! I don’t have a green thumb, even when it comes to household plants. But…these certainly would look lovely even without the plant!
They will look good with fall and holiday items in them.
Cynthia

Hi Cynthia,
I’m a new follower. Love this project. I see you used ink jet printed graphics, does it need to be waterproof ink? And did you use the reverse Mog Poge method? You have my fingers itching to try it and I would be so happy if my project turned out as nice as yours.
Thanks, Rose
Yes, I used the Mod Podge method. Just be patient. Try this out it is a lot of fun!!
Cynthia

Although the words say patisserie, I think some cute flowering shrub would look fantastic. It’s looking great
Or is it going to hold some super cute pumpkins and hay?
Thank you and stick around and check ack to see what I did for fall with the pots.
Cynthia
You are featured today at Potpourri Friday at 2805!
I saw and left a note. I am so honored and excited. I make these pots all the time now.
Cynthia
Absolutely perfect! Gesso is quite expensive here in the Philippines so I usually use wall putty. I’d love to make my own version of these French pots! Patsy from HeARTworks and papemelroti
Do you us Graphics Fairy like we do in the U.S.? I love the site.
