Hello…Hope the weekend is going well. It’s very humid and gloomy outside here in NJ, but I’m excited about the changes going on inside.
Well, this weekend, we’re in the process of making ready for the cabinet re-facing by cleaning out all the cabinets; where’d all this stuff come from? LOL It’s been 17 years and I think it’s time for a facelift (my darkening treatment that I posted about served me well over the past few years, but time for a change) with a budget in mind.
Today I figured I would start out with some before pictures, then during the week I’ll post updates as we progress along.
We hired a very reputable firm to come in and re-face the cabinets and frames, replace all the drawer insides and put in new rails and Euro closures and hinges. Some smaller drawers will be combined into one larger drawer and a few doors will become drawers. The area near the range and sink will also be raised up to add more storage and allow for larger doors.
I chose to go with an espresso finish with rope detail on the doors and crown molding. I think it will compliment my backsplash treatment and the deep golden color of the walls. They will work nicely with the island and another area that I have done paint treatments on, which won’t be changed.
So, here’s some before pictures, be sure to check back during the week for updates and progress photos.

I know it will show your usual good taste when the project is finished.
This will be exciting!
I am very excited and a little nervous.
