I hope everyone had a nice weekend!
Today I wanted to show you some chairs that we revamped a while back. These chairs are in our Master Bedroom now and are antiques. I purchased them from a girl I know at, believe it or not, my hair salon. She is from Turkey and so are the chairs.
The caning on the backs and seat was badly damaged, so we took the caning out and decided to replace the caning with fabric seat and back. We actually made the seat and back out of plywood by first tracing the empty back and seat using paper bags (hi-tech I know LOL).
John then transferred the pattern on to pieces of plywood and took a jigsaw and cut them out for me. I then picked out fabric and we covered the seat and the front and back of the top with a different fabric using a staple gun. John then attached them to the chairs. (We don’t let me use power tools, since I am not that safe with them; we’ve learned from experience). I put them in our bedroom for a small seating area with a little table I purchased. I added a jar and filled it with lavender seeds.
It adds a nice feel to what would have been an empty corner in the room. there’s a nice view from there so it worked out well.

The chairs are beautiful! What a great find!
They are great! I love that “we don’t let me use power tools!!!!” A great rule that should probably apply in my house too!

LOL!!!
It was a great idea to use two different fabrics. The finished product is just beautiful.
Great job! They look perfect in your bedroom! The colors do not match but work really great in the room!
