Hi there…
You know those overpriced gift baskets that everyone seems to get at offices all the time, well my husband got one recently with an assortment of cookies, candies and coffee inside. When it was empty he brought it home and he knew I would figure out something to do with the piece.
It turned out to be a metal one with a wood rim.
When I saw this piece I automatically thought planter! I painted it with Annie Sloan Chateau Grey and then I did a light watered down wash with some Annie Sloan Graphite to highlight the detail on the sides.
John just has to drill holes in the bottom for drainage and I will be planting in it two weeks from now which I can’t wait to start. I have so many plans for a post about our deck area. I feel like it has been dragging on for a time now for people who follow my post and it has definitely been dragging on for me, I want SPRING already!

Very clever idea to even think of using it as a planter. It really came out very nice. I am excited waiting to see how your deck looks with all the planters you have shared with us.
It looks great! Very creative.
Such a great idea! I love when things can be repurposed!
I so love this idea. The planter turned out awesome. Thanks for sharing with the newbie party.
Thank you I can’t to plant flowers in it this weekend and take pictures and post.
