Happy Thursday Everyone!!
I finally finished my first project using Annie Sloan paint and the dark wax! I think I was so nervous about using this for the first time that I just let time drag and drag.
Now that I did it once, I want to know where “she” has been all my life. LOL Not having to do a coat of primer on a project is huge and it is so much faster to do a coat of wax then it is to use glaze and wait for that to dry for two more days. Then a coat of protector over the paint and wait for that to cure.
I decided to do my first project by purchasing a corbel that is 20” tall with some nice detailing.
I selected Annie Sloan Chateau Grey as the base coat, then applied the clear wax let that set and then applied the dark wax. I love the aged quality it gave the corbel.
I decided to put this corbel near our coffee bar (check out the post) in the great room to add some more character to that area of the room. I’ll be doing posts on the great room in the near future.

It looks fabulous!
I love corbels. You did a beautiful job on this one! Hope you have a terrific weekend.
Thanks very much.
I just found your blog while looking around blogland. You do very nice work such as the corbel that you painted. I must be the only person that has a blog who hasn”t tried that paint. I guess I need to remedy that situation right away! I would like to invite you to show some of your work at Your Cozy Home Party each Mon. at 8pm. I would love having you come and join us.———- Shannon
I will be there. I am also following you now.
That looks great! Looks like a pro did it!

I absolutely love how your corbel turned out. I know I will be buying the same color in the future. It’s fantastic! Thanks for sharing on Simple & Sweet Fridays. Always looking forward to your next project.

Beautiful! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!

Love your corbel! I wish I could find a couple like that for my snack bar on my kitchen counter. The color you chose is beautiful! Haven’t tried the Annie Sloan paint yet but everyone raves about it. I’d like to try something small like you did before I tackle my fireplace mantel.
I got the corbel from Van Dykes Rennovation Supply
