Again, I wish I had before pictures. The Powder Room started off much differently then you see now. It had very country wallpaper and a pedestal sink. We have since taken that wallpaper down and put this paper up in its place. It is more formal, and adds that French Country, Old World feel to the room.
The slate plaque on the door I made when we redid the bathroom, I took a plain slate tablet, fauxed it and then decoupaged the paper sign on the front. I hung on the door with a wreath hanger.
As you can see, we also removed the pedestal sink and replaced it with this vanity that I got on sale from Horchow. It was a great deal and I love the vanity and I couldn’t pass up the deal.
The mirror is different as well; it used to be a country wood style. I purchased the current mirror from a craft event in Northern New Jersey and it is a frame wrapped with old tin ceiling tiles.
The urn you see is actually a planter and I decided to faux it with raw umber glaze and once it was dry I thought it would make a great wastebasket.
The toilet paper holder I bought from Touchstone.
The piece on the wall is an old window that I put images of roses behind to add a little elegance to the room.
Now, the finished space is elegant and welcoming for family and friends.

The room is very classy! Such nice detail on the vanity. What a great idea using the old window pane! I’ve always wanted to do something like that. And, I want a slate plaque like that. Please show me how!!!!
This is such a pretty room. I think the new sink is incredible. Isn’t it amazing how just one thing can totally change a room? Hope you are well and having a good week!
