This table started out very American Country. It was plain light oak and had straight square legs. We took the legs off and went to Lowes and purchased new legs that were fluted French Country and changed them, also adding some appliques to the front and sides to make the table more ornate.

I sanded and added a coat of darker stain on top called Provence, it made it darker and more rich looking.
I knew I had to do something with the base and legs since they didn’t match. First, I primed the whole bottom and then I painted it with green paint. The green turned out to be a little bluer than I anticipated so something had to be done. I had to faux it and I hoped that would tone it down and make it appear greener and it did just that; this table took the glaze very well and adds a nice touch to our Hallway.

You created a beautiful green shade that appears to pick out the green in your rug. I LOVE the pineapple placed on top of the table.
I love the two different colors. You really made it look like an antique! (and I told you it was a pineapple – LOL !!)
Love the color! Nice job.
Thank you very much.
Beautiful! I would never have thought to replace the legs. What a great idea! laurie
