Again, where do I begin, this room has also undergone a huge transformation. As you can see it was very American country, I had no color on the walls and pink and blue furniture with a pink rug.
It’s a pretty big room (16’x16’) and I originally had the furniture up against the 4 walls, not realizing that the placement of furniture can have an impact on conversation.
When we first moved into this house I was afraid of putting color on the walls and as I have gotten older, that has changed, as you can see as I take you through our home.
Once we got comfortable with the placement; we created 2 separate areas in the room – One we placed the writing desk (I spoke about it the other day) and a nice reading chair, the other we incorporated the couch, love seat, 2 chairs and the tables.
Next, I decided to have the furniture reupholstered since I loved the lines of the furniture and it was in such great shape. It came out even better than I thought it would. I love the fabric and the colors.
The coffee and end tables used to have drop leaves on the sides as you can see in the before picture; we took them off and I painted the legs, darkened the tops with Provence stain and lightly fauxed.
You will see some of the leaves later, I repurposed them to use as wall decorations.
Even our Christmas tree is different and in a different place but that you will have check back for during the Christmas season.
